A Weak in my life
The poems collectively titled A Weak in My Life, are about healing oneself from the trauma of casual racism, institutional racism and sexism and the days when anxiety takes a firm hold of your day. Moreover, treating yourself with the utmost respect, even on a day when you are overcome with the grief of your experiences. A Weak in My Life is an effort to marry poetry and theory; to merge feelings with thought; the subjective and the objective. Inspired by the work of Audre Lorde and introducing the quiet power of mental awareness - “a configuration or other way of experiencing the world, though difficult to name.” Lorde says “we can serve them and seek their articulation.” A Weak in My Life is an attempt at articulating such a configuration.
